Associate Fellow at the Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP), New Delhi
Hello! I’m Ganesh Sivamani, a researcher at the Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP), focusing on India's mining sector within the context of sustainable development and the energy transition. My research provides techno-economic policy analysis aimed at fostering sustainable mining practices, including for critical minerals essential to India's growth, while ensuring the holistic welfare of mining-affected communities.Additionally, I utilise quantitative modelling techniques, including Social Accounting Matrices (SAM) and Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models, to assess the socio-economic and environmental impacts of climate change mitigation strategies and energy policies across India.I hold a Master's of Engineering from the University of Cambridge, with a specialisation in Energy, Sustainability, and the Environment.Outside my research, I enjoy spending time in nature and taking photos of wildlife.
